Golden Cob Throws
Their Weight Behind The Research Into The Nutritional Requirements Of
The Gouldian
The University of
NSW settled on using Golden Cob Premium Seed Mix after trialing a number
of other brands.
It
had the benefit of being coated with the oil based vitamins and a
probiotic as well as being virtually dust free. They also found that it
appears to be virtually free of Indian Meal Moth [ Codling moth ] More
importantly the birds liked it which meant there was less waste!
In
a recent generous move, Golden Cob have sponsored the work of the
University of NSW and Dr Sarah Pryke with a tonne of their premium finch
mix and a pledge to continue the support well into the future.
With the number of wild type Gouldians being bred up at the research
centre, close to the 600 mark, we certainly can put their gift to great
use!
Golden Cob's donation greatly assists the Save The Gouldian Fund’s
efforts to fund research into the nutritional needs of the Gouldian
finch which will ultimately be of tremendous benefit to us all.
We
invite all Gouldian Fund supporters and finch lovers to show your
appreciation to Golden Cob by giving them your support whenever
possible.
On
behalf of us all here at the Fund and the University, thanks to Gary
Warren and all at Golden Cob for their interest and support.

All Golden Cob Seeds are cleaned on site - after seed is
received, it goes though a grading system with numerous screens which
also remove the majority of foreign material. When seeds are mixed to
create a blend, it goes through a number of aspirators to remove loose
husks, dust and foreign material.
