Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary in September 2005 to provide a
funding body to help support research into the decline in the wild
population of the Gouldian finch.
- Managed by well-known aviculturist and
long-time Gouldian lover Mike Fidler and his wife Elisabeth
together with Tasmanian aviculturist Marcus Pollard.

-
Looking to get avicultural societies,
individual bird keepers and those in the general public interested
in the salvation of this magnificent species.
-
Aims to provide funding to researchers
working on the problem – both in the wild and in captivity.
-
As a non-profit
organisation we intend to channel your donations into a number of
Gouldian research projects and also to continue funding the critical
work being undertaken at the Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary to ensure
that the slide of the wild stocks of Gouldians can continue to be
redressed.
